Ten years ago, the health of Benjamin, now 73, deteriorated, and he required triple bypass surgery. His wife, Rebecca, became his caregiver.

In the intervening years, he has needed hip surgery and also further surgery for his heart. He received a pacemaker three years ago, and he now struggles to walk due to a limp and intense pain. These health issues have meant both Rebecca and Benjamin’s ability to work has been curtailed. The pandemic only added to their difficulties.

The Kathi Koll Foundation gifted the couple a $1,500 Target gift card this year to make life a little easier.

“I’m so thankful to the foundation for extending us this kind of help,” Rebecca, 70, said. “It helps us a lot to augment our expenses. I’m so grateful. I pray that the foundation will grow so you can help more people in need.”
